Prepare for Your CILISAT Certificate Exam
Community Interpreter Language and Interpreting Skills Assessment Tool (CILISAT)
Get certified in your interpreting and sight translation competences.
The CILISAT was developed to evaluate the language and interpretation proficiencies of community interpreters.
This certification assesses language and interpreting skills with the following tests:
- Interpreting from English into one of 50 selected CILISAT languages
- Interpreting from the selected language into English
- Sight translation from English into the selected language
- Sight translation from the selected language into English
CILISAT results can:
- Demonstrate the competencies required for community interpreter roles
- Complement The Interpreter’s Lab training programs as part of your professional credentials
- Support your application for associate membership under the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council
You can complete your CILISAT assessment exam at The Interpreter’s Lab, an authorized testing centre. Our tests are graded by independent markers. You must score a minimum of 75% to achieve certification.
