A Few Words From Our Founder

Some years ago, my life took an unexpected turn, which led to the profound realization of the vital role interpreters play in bridging communication. My journey began in Ecuador, volunteering on a UNICEF project, where my passion for social justice ignited. Returning to Canada, I ventured into interpreting, unaware of its complexities, especially in healthcare. This realization hit hard during a challenging encounter with a Guatemalan patient. I recognized the need for better interpreter education, leading to the creation of The Interpreter's Lab.

This experience fueled my mission to revolutionize interpreter education. The Interpreter's Lab was born, dedicated to providing accessible and comprehensive training, nurturing interpreters to become passionate about the important work they do.

Today, The Interpreter's Lab is proud to empower individuals in this important field, enabling them to make a meaningful impact in the service of communication, inclusion, equity and understanding.
